Today we will begin with some more practice finding important information from various sources. Record all elements you can find on your handout (1-9) for each of the following sources:
Source #2
Source #3
Source #4 --Your own book
Next we'll get into our next notebook entry:
Research and Reading Check-In
Write about one of the research topics with the most potential that has come up in your book so far.
Sample author/page number citation: Rosaleen is beaten by a group of older white men just because she attempts to register as a voter (Kidd 73).
When you finish, please leave it out on your desk and open to the start of the entry. I'll be walking around to check your work for points, including the citations. You may read and annotate for the rest of the hour.

Research and Reading Check-In
Write about one of the research topics with the most potential that has come up in your book so far.
- Describe at least 3 situations in your book that connect with this topic. As you describe them, be sure to document each one with a properly formatted parenthetical citation (author's last name and page number).
- Then write about how you plan to research this topic. Where do you think you'll find the best information? What type of sources do you think will prove to be most valuable to you (primary/secondary, news articles, encyclopedia entries, videos, interviews, etc.)?
Sample author/page number citation: Rosaleen is beaten by a group of older white men just because she attempts to register as a voter (Kidd 73).
