- Please return any library books or books from my shelf as soon as possible.
- If you still have your text book, I need it this week!
- Scenes will be performed on Friday. Check with your parents to be sure you do NOT have an appointment (we can have your group perform Thursday if we need to).
Today we will work hard on our scenes! Your group's goal should be to have a finalized script by the end of the hour. Please be sure it includes stage directions and is nearly error free.
We will begin rehearsing lines today. Here are your tasks:
- Start in a circle for a read-through. This means everyone has their script out and uses it to run through the entire scene, beginning to end. Do this 4-5 times, each time trying to pay more attention to the performance itself--getting into character. At the end of each read-through, discuss any changes you think need to be made.
- Next, we'll begin blocking. Clear a space (or I'll assign you one) and read through the scenes again, this time making decisions about where to stand and what gestures to make. ALWAYS KEEP IN MIND WHERE YOUR AUDIENCE WILL BE! Add any stage directions you may need. Try to get through it another 4-5 times.
- Finally, if you are ready, you may begin rehearsing without scripts. Have one group member (who does not have many lines) keep a script handy to prompt others as they may need it.
